We had a great time on our field trip today to Ameilie's French Bakery. The students were amazed at the French artwork and loved the statue of the Eiffel Tower as you enter the bakery. The students were told about the history of Ameilie's Bakery and were also told the story of the gate around the bakery. The students were challenged with finding the hidden word "amour" out of shapes and also enjoyed a French pastry and orangeade. A big thank you to all the parents who went with us!

Last Thursday, the students had the opportunity to listen to the Clean and Green Presentation from the City of Rock Hill. During this presentation the students literally followed the process that a plastic bottle takes once it is recycled in one of the blue bins. The students were amazed that plastic bottles are later chopped up and turned into thread that is used to make clothes. The students also played a game in which they had to decide what items could or could not be recycled. The students really enjoyed the presentation and the goodie bags they got too!
We made it to the 100th day!!! The kids and I enjoyed reading a story about the 100th day of school, watching a video on the 100th day of school, and making self-portraits of themselves when they are 100 years old. The students also wrote about what they would do if they were 100 years old. I will be putting the self-portraits and writing in the hallway as the students did a really great job! Also, check your child's blog page for their 100 day old self-portrait! Finally, the students ended the day counting out 100 things to make a 100 day trail mix. Thanks to the parents who sent in items that we needed for our snack!
