The students enjoyed taste testing a variety of types of Oreos this week. The students taste tested Mint Oreos and Berry Oreos and then had to state their opinion on which one they liked the best and why. Overall, the blue class liked the Berry Oreos the best and the green class liked the Mint Oreos the best. Below are videos of the kids telling which ones they liked better.

The students and I enjoyed the Veteran's Day program today in which we got to honor and pay tribute to the men and women who have served to fight for our country's freedom. The students made posters and flags to honor the Veterans and even sang a song as a first grade group. It was good to see some of our parents in attendance and even family members who were veterans attend the program.
I really enjoyed watching the students this week with their baby pumpkins. The students enjoyed reading to their pumpkins, taking them to recess, and sharing what they did with them on their baby pumpkin's first night at home. Some of the students even made little beds or carriers for their pumpkins. It was great to see them take such responsibility for their babies!

Since being in Rock Hill, I have been teaching first grade at Rosewood Elementary International School. This will be my sixth year teaching using the Dual Language Model. I will be team teaching with Monsieur Joseph McFadden. I am very excited about what the coming year has to offer! Archives
