Today both sections worked with me to create our essential agreements or rules for our classroom. We had a discussion about what rules are and their importance prior to making our agreements. Both sections came up with 5 essential agreements that we will read daily before we begin class. All students signed them as their promise to follow them daily and were reminded that if they choose to break one, appropriate consequences may be given. Below are the essential agreements for both the blue and green class.

We had a great first day today! We did some activities as a whole group, reviewing the rules and some procedures in both English and French as well as taking a tour of the school. The students learned how to say some of the main areas in the school (cafeteria, office, library, nurse, playground, special areas) in both English and French. The students also spent time in each classroom learning the procedures and environment of each room. I am so excited about this year and can't wait to teach your child and learn from them in return. Below are some pictures of each class on the first day!
