We had a great time celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week. The students wore lots of red, signed a pledge to life a drug free life and teamed up against drugs by wearing their favorite sports team jersey or shirt. Below are the two classes on "Wear Red Day".

We had a great time today on our walking field trip around the neighborhood. Thanks to all the parents that came and walked with us! The students had three purposes for walking: 1) to see what is located in the neighborhood around the school; 2) to search for shapes in the neighborhood, and 3) to search for items that could be either pushed or pulled by another object. Enjoy the pictures below of the students walking!
The students and I enjoyed talking about Egyptian culture this week. We watched a video on the great pyramids and mummies. We also viewed pictures and read books that gave us a good representation of Egyptian culture. To end our week we had a snack of pita bread, grapes and yogurt dip. These are some of the typical snack foods that people in Egypt enjoy.
