The students continued working on opinion writing this week. The students wrote their opinion about which type of Oreo cookie they liked best and had to give three reasons why. The students got to choose between Mint Oreos and Lemon Oreos. I guided students through 3 steps in writing their opinions: 1) After tasting the Oreos students made a list of adjectives that described them 2) Students chose three adjectives from their list to use as their reasons for liking that Oreo. They had to use those three adjectives in a sentence describing the reason 3) They wrote a beginning sentence for their opinion piece and completed the piece by adding the sentences with their reasons/adjectives. Below are pictures of the students taste testing the Oreos and Videos of the students stating which ones they liked best.
